This is where I am supposed to speak of my positions and accomplishments, but I’d like to take a different angle this time. In the scriptures, people are often remembered and known by their afflictions…the blind man Bartimaeus; Rahab the prostitute; doubting Thomas; and we know that what they are now, they are by God’s grace, for God has changed them. So who am I? I am the one once known as Derek the depressed. I am Derek the fearful. I am Derek the dying. But I have been “delivered from the domain of darkness, and transferred…to the kingdom of His beloved Son” (Col. 1:13). What have I done? The real question is, what has He done?
